What is the Museum & Gallery at Heritage Green?

As an innovative, educational satellite facility of the Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University, the Museum & Gallery at Heritage Green provides each visitor, whether an art enthusiast or a beginner, an opportunity to learn about and experience fine art. M&G at Heritage Green rotates special exhibits of works selected from M&G’s world-renowned painting collection plus features interactive, educational displays that bring the art and time of the Old Masters to life for all ages.

In downtown Greenville, S.C., M&G at Heritage Green enhances the overall educational and cultural environment of the Heritage Green campus, which also includes the Greenville County Library, the Greenville Little Theatre, the Greenville County Museum of Art, the Upcountry History Museum, and The Children’s Museum.  Heritage Green is a unique place of culture, education, and art rarely repeated anywhere in the United States.

Will M&G's whole collection be moving downtown?

Only portions of M&G's collection of Old Masters can fit into the museum downtown, which will be a great enticement for people to visit both locations in order to experience the full development and impact of European art. However, M&G also draws on its other valued collections such as Middle-Eastern antiquities, Russian icons, decorative arts, and period furniture, to provide the visitor with glimpses of past civilizations and their relevance and influence on us today.

What are M&G’s policies at Heritage Green?

Children up to 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. For M&G at BJU only, children must be 6 years or older to be admitted. Strollers are not permitted in the building.

Due to the purpose and sacred nature and purpose of the collection, we ask that guests dress modestly.

In order to protect the works of art and to create a safe, pleasant environment for all patrons, please observe the following Museum policies:

  • Smoking is prohibited in the buildings.
  • Food and drink are not permitted in the galleries.
  • The following items may not be brought into the galleries: all parcels, backpacks, umbrellas, briefcases, and any purse, bag, or tote larger than 13"x15".
  • Photography is prohibited in the galleries.
  • Cell phones may not be used in the galleries. Please be considerate of others by silencing or turning off all cell phones.
  • Protests or demonstrations of any sort are absolutely forbidden. Use of M&G premises for the promotion or display of political or social agendas is not tolerated.
  • M&G staff maintains the right to deny access to any whose behavior or speech is deemed inappropriate to the purpose and sacred nature of the collection.
