Available Fridays and Saturdays at 3 p.m. beginning January 8, 2010.
In the hands of a master portraitist, a king's persona can be artfully crafted, a child's spirit intimately captured or a donor's contribution subtly acknowledged. Take this 40-minute walk-in tour for a glimpse into personalities and cultural forces of the past, and then enjoy the interactive theatre, technology and costume stations on the second floor.
Fee: $3 in addition to general admission

Educational Groups

An M&G educator will make the collection come alive to your students through critical thinking questions, hands-on activities, cross-curricular links to other subject matter, and an interactive white board. The breadth of the collection affords an unusual opportunity to view the arts and cultures of civilizations past. M&G’s Education Coordinator can tailor tours to meet your class’s specific focus and needs.

Museum on the Move

M&G’s Education Coordinator is available to visit your classroom!  Our education department is excited to introduce the community to the world of art through our Museum on the Move program. Our lessons integrate art with the core subject areas and meet the South Carolina state standards. All lessons are taught by a South Carolina certified educator. During these visits M&G’s Education Coordinator will provide 30-60 minute interactive lessons on topics such as the following:

  • Elements of Art
  • Principles of Design
  • Math & Art
  • Art & Propaganda

With enough advance notice, she can also tailor a lesson to accommodate individual classroom needs. Each of these topics can also be adapted to an on-site guided tour with proper notice.

Guided Tour Information

Guided tours are available Tuesday through Saturday by reservation only. Requests for tours at other times are granted based on schedule availability. Tours last approximately 50 minutes. The Museum & Gallery at Heritage Green can accommodate a maximum group size of 40. For more information and fees, contact the Guest Services Coordinator at (864) 770-1331.
