ArtBreak: Beauty Matters

Mack Library, campus of Bob Jones University

Thursdays, at noon

The contemplation and experience of beauty is not just for artists and philosophers, but something that is part of the everyday as seen in a child’s imaginative play and in our awareness of transcendent beauty as witnessed in those who suffer with grace. Philosopher, Roger Scruton notes: “Beauty is vanishing from our world because we live as though it did not matter….  Beauty matters. It is not just a subjective thing but a universal need of human beings. If we ignore this need we find ourselves in a spiritual desert.” Join us monthly for a thoughtful discussion over lunch about how beauty matters and why we need it.
