Gideon’s 300* Annual Fund Society

You can support M&G’s educational and cultural outreach today to the community and beyond by being one of 300 close friends, whose intent is to give $1,000 or more to underwrite 1/3 of M&G’s annual operations. Your annual gift of $1000 or more helps M&G protect and share daily  the enduring, inspiring stories and people linked to 200-700 year old paintings!

Arts Encounter

M&G’s annual educational outreaches to more than 12,000 K-12 students, their families, and educators. Your gift will help us convert Museum on the Move lessons to a digital format, enabling us to continue reaching students during COVID-19 limitations and classrooms beyond South Carolina.

Where Most Needed

Your “Where Most Needed” gift of any amount equips M&G with the resources—including personnel, materials, supporting services, facilities and equipment—to fulfill our daily mission of transforming lives through fine art.

Your gift to the M&G Endowment will have an impact that lasts longer than a lifetime providing permanent, ongoing support for M&G. M&G exists to serve a diverse audience by making its Collection and programming accessible to everyone. However, such a worthy goal requires sustainable operational support in the form of a $3-$8 million endowment. The endowment is structured so that the principal amount is kept intact, while the investment income is available for M&G to underwrite core operational expenses to continue preserving and sharing the Old Master collection for generations to come. You can give to the endowment today or through your estate plan.

New Building Campaign

In 2017, M&G made the decision to close the doors of both its museum locations to focus on growing the Arts Encounter educational programming in local schools and on caring for the Collection by placing portions on loan, on display on the university campus, and moving other works into storage. At first, M&G planned to renovate the current building; however community interest surged for M&G to pursue a more accessible location off the campus. Currently M&G is working with varied private and public partners to locate and build a new museum in Greenville. To that end, the M&G Board of Directors anticipates imminently launching the quiet phase of a $17 million capital campaign.

* In Judges 7, Gideon prepared to fight an impossible battle against thousands with a group of 300 men picked specifically by God; however the Lord fought for them by confusing the Midian army so that they fought one another with the survivors fleeing.  It revealed to Gideon, Israel, and the Midianites that the Lord rescues and provides for His people using His methods.

The Museum & Gallery, Inc. is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) public charity and a separate, independent organization from Bob Jones University. Gifts made to M&G exclusively support the services, collections, and operations of the Museum & Gallery.
