Whether or not you’re a BJU alumni, YOU are invited to attend Homecoming, October 10-12, on the campus of Bob Jones University.  The following M&G events are open to the public. Please come!

M&G WALK-IN TOUR: THE WEST COLLECTION IN THE WAR MEMORIAL CHAPEL

Friday, October 11 at 10AM

War Memorial Chapel, for adults and students (3rd-12th grade)

Guide: Erin R. Jones

From an aspiring artist in rural Pennsylvania plucking the hairs of his cat’s tail for a home-made paintbrush to working as History Painter to the King of England during the Revolutionary War, Benjamin West led a remarkable life of influence, and his paintings detail his story of amazing opportunities! Tour this monumental collection of paintings commissioned by King George III and discover their significance in history.

M&G WALK-IN TOUR: EXPLORING ANCIENT CULTURES

Friday, October 11 at 2PM

M&G Lobby, for adults and students (K5-12th grade)

Guide: Bonnie Merkle

History enthusiasts and pupils of archaeology will marvel again at the developments of past civilizations and their preserved practices by examining treasures in M&G’s collection from ancient Egyptian, Roman, and Hebrew cultures.  Come examine a first-century ossuary, a Torah scroll, Roman glass, Egyptian make-up, and a Hebrew baby rattle. Learning about the everyday lives and customs of generations before us is revealing and fascinating!

U. DAY: An Educational Street Fair

Saturday, October 12 from 10 AM-1:30 PM

Front Campus

Explore dozens of fun, interactive booths on front campus during this family-friendly event. In addition to enjoying stations for food, face painting and cool hands-on science experiments, young artists will train as apprentices in the art of the Old Masters!  Join an old-world artist’s studio to expand your view of people and history!

M&G MAKERS MARKET 

Saturday, October 12 from 10 AM-5 PM

2nd floor Welcome Center, Student Center

Whether or not you’re a grad, prospective student or BJU supporter, YOU are invited to M&G’s 4th annual Makers Market with handmade art, crafts, and designs created by BJU grads, current and former faculty/staff, and current and former students. The Makers come from around the country and feature a variety of items including handmade cards, pottery, illustrations, water color paintings, jewelry, fiber art, woodworking, calligraphy, gourmet popcorn and more!
